Plainfield East’s Michael McGee is one step away from his second state title after coming in first place Saturday in the Normal Sectional at 120 pounds, after defeating James Pierandozzi of Lockport 4-0 in the championship. Plainfield South edged rival Minooka to take home the Rock Island Regional title Saturday. The Cougars bested the Indians by two points, 171.5-169.5 for the title. Plainfield North started its match against Plainfield South with four pins and a 24-0 lead. But the Cougars stormed back and overcame a fifth pin to take down the hosts 43-33 Thursday night.
