Plainfield North’s season came to an end Monday night in a 50-45 loss to Andrew in the Plainfield North Regional quarterfinal.
The Tigers trailed 14-4 early in the second quarter before 10 straight points tied the game. The T-Bolts scored the final four points for an 18-14 lead at the half.
“We were 5-of-13 in the paint, we were 5-for-23 in the first half and 0-for-3 from three and none of them were contested,” North coach Bob Krahulik said. “We just didn’t shoot well. But, credit to us. We hung in there and only gave up 18 points in the half.
The lead was pushed to 24-16 in the third quarter and Andrew led 33-27 after three.
North made its run though in the fourth quarter and took a 38-37 lead thanks to six straight points from Justin Wilson.
The Tigers also led 40-39 before Andrew finished the game with a 11-2 run before a final dunk from Wilson.
“We came back and tied it up,” Krahulik said. “Then we were down eight or nine in the third quarter and ended up taking the lead. We came back, we just could never take a two possession lead. I think our offense in the second half was much better than the first half. The final minute we didn’t have ball movement, but before that I think we did and pushed the ball in transition and had good looks. Give credit to them, they can flat out shoot the ball.”
Wilson scored 12 points in his final game to lead the Tigers.
